Iran, Tajikistan Sign Long-Term Energy Agreement Amid Global Crisis
Iran and Tajikistan have finalized the framework for a long-term agreement in the energy sector, according to Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad. The agreement aims to resolve Tajikistan's fuel challenges amid the global energy crisis by exporting surplus petroleum products from Iran.
The negotiations between the two countries focused on the possibility of exporting Iran's surplus petroleum products to address some of the energy challenges faced by Tajikistan, said Minister Paknejad.
Under the agreement, a working group will be set up to examine the technical and logistical details of cooperation. The deal has the potential to increase the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries to over 800,000 metric tons.
