Iran Threatens 'Enemies' Label for Neighbors Joining US Economic War
Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei issued a stern warning to neighboring countries, stating that those who join the US in its 'economic war' against Tehran will be considered enemies.
In an interview with state television, Rezaei threatened 'earthquake-like' retaliation if neighboring countries cooperate with Washington's economic campaign, which includes choking off oil exports across the Persian Gulf, including routes designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
The warning comes ahead of a Monday press conference by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, where he is expected to detail the administration's new economic offensive against Tehran, marking what could be the greatest coordinated economic isolation in history.
