Iran Threatens Oil Export Blockade Through Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary Mohsen Rezaei has warned that if the US economic war against Tehran continues, no oil will be exported through the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf. In a post on his official X account, Rezaei outlined Tehran's position on US efforts to impose economic sanctions.
He stated that if the economic war continues, 'not even a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from anywhere else in the Persian Gulf.' This warning comes as the US prepares to impose new economic sanctions and naval forces have placed restrictions on commercial vessels linked to Iran.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical corridor for global oil shipments, with 70 commercial vessels having their routes redirected by American naval forces since enforcement began in July. The figure marks an increase from the 68 vessels reported as redirected as of Aug. 21, when the USS Ross was among more than 20 warships supporting the US naval effort against Iran.
