Iran Threatens Retaliation if US Targets Oil Tankers
A senior Iranian military official has issued a stern warning to the US after reports emerged that Washington had threatened to target three Iranian oil tankers. Second Brigadier General Ibrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for the Central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, stated that any attack on these vessels would be met with a strong response from Iran's armed forces.
Zolfaqari referred to reports that the US military had ordered the Iranian oil tankers to evacuate in preparation for a possible attack. This move, according to the general, would trigger a direct response from Iran's armed forces, including strikes against US bases and interests across the region.
Major General Abdollahi, commander of the Central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, echoed this warning, saying that any attack on Iranian oil tankers would put US military bases in the region at risk of being targeted by Iranian forces.
