Iran Threatens Retaliation with Strikes on Major Middle East Energy Hubs
Tensions in the Middle East have reached an all-time high as Iran issues a stern warning to the United States and Israel. If attacked again, Iran threatens to strike seven major energy hubs in the Gulf region, which could disrupt over 5% of global oil supply.
The list of targets includes the Ghawar oil field in Saudi Arabia, described as the country's backbone for oil production, Abqaiq and Khurais, home to the world's largest oil stabilization plant, and the North Field gas field in Qatar, which accounts for 20% of global LPG/LNG trade.
Iranian military circles claim that their missiles can directly target these energy centers with high precision. The impact could be severe, risking a complete collapse of the global economy and supply chain if crude oil prices spike sharply.
