Iran Threatens Retaliatory Strikes Against Energy Fields
Iran has warned of retaliatory strikes on other nations' energy fields if the US launches fresh attacks, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
Araqchi made these comments in phone calls with senior Turkish, Pakistani, and Saudi officials on August 1, just hours after Kuwait's army destroyed hostile drones launched by Iran against several vital facilities.
The Iranian minister stated that any 'aggression' from the US would be met with a 'proportionate response,' including strikes on oil fields in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as gas fields in Qatar and Israel.
Araqchi's comments come amid rising tensions between Iran and the US, with President Donald Trump saying he was losing faith in Iranian negotiators and threatening to 'hit them.'
