Iran Threatens Retaliatory Strikes Against US Bases Over Oil Tanker Attacks
Iran's military has issued a stern warning to the United States regarding any potential attacks on Iranian oil tankers. In a statement, Major General Ali Abdollahi, head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated that if US forces attack Iranian vessels, they would face retaliatory strikes from Iranian armed forces targeting US bases across the region.
The warning comes amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States. The US has imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports and targeted Iranian vessels in recent months. In response, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said it had struck three US-linked vessels and three trespassing oil tankers.
Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, announced that Iran had successfully tested a new anti-ship missile above a US warship in regional waters. The test was seen as a significant development in the escalating conflict between Tehran and Washington.
