Iran Threatens to Target Major Oil and Gas Facilities in Middle East
Tehran has threatened to retaliate by targeting major oil and gas facilities across the Middle East if the US or Israel launches fresh strikes against Iranian energy infrastructure.
The warning comes as reports indicate that US President Donald Trump is considering attacking Iranian targets during ongoing ceasefire negotiations, according to a senior Iranian security official quoted by Tasnim News Agency.
The official stated that Iran has prepared a comprehensive plan to respond to any potential American recklessness, citing the 40-day war where it bombed Qatar's most vital gas refinery and claimed Trump later apologized on Truth Social.
The reported target list features Saudi Arabia's Ghawar oil field, which accounts for over 5% of global oil supply, alongside the Abqaiq and Khurais facilities, which produce more than 7 million barrels of oil per day.
