Iran-US Conflict Escalates: Wedding Party Hit, Oil Prices Spike
The conflict between Iran and the US continues to escalate, with multiple incidents reported on September 1, 2026. The Iranian Foreign Ministry accused the US of killing or wounding more than 50 people in an airstrike that hit a wedding party in a private home in Kuhestak, Hormozgan province's Sirik district.
The ministry's spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, referred to this strike as part of a 'chain of atrocities' and warned that those who remain silent today will not be immune to its consequences tomorrow.
Global oil prices have increased in response to the hostilities, with Brent crude trading at just below $96 a barrel for November deliveries and US-based West Texas Intermediate at over $91 for October deliveries.
