Iran-US Deadlock Triggers Global Gold and Silver Price Surge
The ongoing US-Iran negotiations have reached an impasse, sparking massive volatility in precious metals. President Trump's demand for historical conflict compensation from Tehran has effectively frozen peace talks, crushing any immediate hope of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and fueling global oil price spikes.
This sudden deadlock is sending a clear signal to investors to seek safe-haven assets like gold and silver. As a result, international investors are aggressively buying these metals, pushing local gold and silver prices sharply higher in Pakistan.
The Sarafa markets in Pakistan have been constantly adjusting prices to absorb the macroeconomic shocks caused by these international developments. According to recent data, the current rates for 24K gold in Pakistan are Rs. 4,58,463 per tola, Rs. 3,93,064.8 for 10 grams, and Rs. 39,306.48 for 1 gram.
The prices of silver have also seen a significant increase, with the current rate standing at Rs. 6,818.21 per kilogram in Pakistan. Internationally, spot gold is trading at $4,399.29 per troy ounce, while spot silver is priced at $65.422 per troy ounce.
