Crude oil futures have surged as uncertainty persists over proposed talks between the US and Iran. On Tuesday morning, October Brent oil futures traded at $84.87, up by 1.31%, while September crude oil futures on WTI were at $81.11, up by 0.96%. In contrast, August crude oil futures on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) rose by 1.15% to ₹7733.

US President Donald Trump's recent post on Truth Social has added fuel to the fire, with him stating that Iranian leadership is 'unbelievably duplicitous' and that they are only dealing with Oman. Trump also warned that nothing gets through to Iran unless a deal or total surrender is accomplished.

Warren Patterson, Head of Commodities Strategy at ING Think, expressed caution in their Commodities Feed for Tuesday, stating that 'we've been in this situation multiple times before' and that the current backdrop leaves ample room for renewed escalation. The recent loading activity at the CPC terminal in the Black Sea has also been disrupted due to Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.
