Iran War Fuel Prices Soar Globally

The ongoing conflict between Iran and Ukraine has had far-reaching consequences for global energy markets. One of the most noticeable effects is the rise in fuel prices, particularly for gasoline and diesel.

According to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the price of gasoline has increased significantly since the attacks on Iran began on February 28. The cost of 100 gallons of gas has risen by $1.38 per week compared to just before the conflict started.

The cumulative effect is substantial, with the total increase in prices reaching nearly $9 per 100 gallons of gas over six months.

However, it's worth noting that the U.S. has been relatively insulated from the Iran war's energy shock compared to many other countries. The country's massive oil reserves and its status as a major oil producer have helped to mitigate the impact on domestic fuel prices.
