Iran Warns of Strike Against US Warships Enforcing Blockade
An escalation in the Gulf confrontation has been warned by Iran's Acting Defence Minister Brig. Gen Majid Ibn Reza, stating that Iranian forces have the capability to attack US warships enforcing Washington's blockade of Iranian shipping.
This comes two days after the US struck three Iranian crude-oil carriers following Iranian missile attacks on two US Navy vessels, marking a significant escalation in the conflict.
The exchange has pushed the conflict into a new phase where Iran's oil exports, commercial tankers and U.S. naval forces enforcing the blockade are increasingly becoming interconnected military targets.
Iran's parliament member on the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee warned that US warships would have 'no safe haven' in the region and that Iran would respond against American military assets and bases.
