Iranian Oil Tanker Destruction Pushes US Oil Prices Higher

The United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO) saw gains after-hours on Tuesday following news that the U.S. military destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and near Kharg Island.

The U.S. Central Command stated it was responding to Iran's firing, which led to the destruction of the tankers.

Oil prices had already been rising over the past two months, and this latest development contributed to their continued growth.
