Iranian Oil Tanker Sinks in Gulf of Oman After US Strike
US Central Command (Centcom) confirmed that an Iranian oil tanker, M/T Kylo, has sunk in the Gulf of Oman. The incident occurred on September 6, 2026, and was described as a result of 'precision and professionalism' by American service members.
Centcom's statement included a video of the tanker ablaze and sinking, which showed the vessel going down in the Gulf of Oman.
The US military had earlier announced that it had struck three Iranian crude oil carriers on Saturday in retaliation for ballistic missile attacks on its two US warships.
