Iranian Oil Tankers Foiled by US Blockade
Since July 12, no Iranian oil tanker has evaded the US blockade, according to the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) advocacy group.
The UANI estimates that since June 14, when a US-Iran memorandum of understanding was announced, 66 tankers have left the Gulf of Oman carrying about 80 million barrels of Iranian oil and petrochemicals.
These shipments are valued at more than $6 billion, with the majority going to fund Iran's missile and drone programs through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
