Iran's Diplomatic Efforts Continue as Tehran Tensions with Washington Escalate
Tehran's diplomatic efforts to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz continue as Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held phone calls with his Turkish and Saudi counterparts on Saturday night.
Araghchi discussed bilateral issues and regional developments separately with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, according to Iran's official news agency IRNA.
The three foreign ministers also consulted on the progress of diplomatic efforts to promote stability in the West Asia region and address insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz resulting from what Iran described as 'aggressive actions' by the United States.
This came after a series of naval confrontations between Iran and the US earlier Saturday, which involved the US Central Command striking three Iranian crude oil carriers and the IRGC targeting three US-affiliated vessels in retaliation.
