Peszeshkian attributed Iran's economic struggles to falling oil revenues and widespread factory damage since the outbreak of war with the US and Israel. He said higher costs and declining state revenues resulting from a decline in oil sales have driven up prices.

The president noted that imported goods now enter the country through alternative channels, driving up their final cost. 'Our revenues have declined,' he said. 'We used to sell oil, but now we cannot sell it.'
