Iran's Economy Plummets Amid US Sanctions and Naval Blockade
Iran's economy is facing significant pressure due to US sanctions and a naval blockade. The country's trade activity has declined by 25% to 35%, with imports decreasing more sharply than exports, according to President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The decline in trade indicates the impact of US sanctions on Iran's economy, which is now focusing on strengthening economic independence and reducing dependence on the US dollar. In a written message, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei emphasized the importance of boosting economic growth and national production.
Khamenei's 'Resistance Economy' policy aims to reduce dependence on the US dollar and make it the main focus. However, pressure is mounting as oil exports have plummeted by over 80% compared to last year, with only 260,000 barrels per day being exported in August.
