Iran's Hybrid War Strategy Threatens US Allies in Gulf

Iran is reportedly forging a new ring of proxies to threaten US allies in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia. This strategy involves coordinating attacks between Iraqi militias and Houthi rebels from Yemen.

According to regional officials, the Houthis helped plan and execute a drone attack on Saudi oil facilities in July. The strike was blamed on Iranian-backed militias in Iraq.

A senior US military official confirmed that the Houthis had been killed in previous strikes in Iraq. The Houthi presence in Iraq is of concern to the US as it allows them to launch attacks on other countries, including Saudi Arabia.
