Iran's Oil Exports Defy War and Blockade
Iran's oil exports continued uninterrupted throughout the 40-day war despite attacks on its energy infrastructure and logistical challenges caused by a maritime blockade, according to Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad.
The war began on February 28 and lasted until a temporary ceasefire was established. Despite repeated attacks on oil storage and distribution facilities, as well as major gas-processing infrastructure, Iran's crude exports did not stop for one hour, the minister said.
Paknejad noted that the country's energy system was also tested by direct attacks on its gas-processing infrastructure, including strikes on four refineries in Asaluyeh. However, Iranian specialists were able to restore a substantial part of the lost capacity, and reconstruction work began shortly after the strikes.
