Iran's Rejection of Oman Proposal Sends Oil Prices Soaring
Oil prices surged after-hours following reports of U.S. troops being targeted by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps in an attempted surprise attack.
The attacks came hours after a proposal from Oman to share the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial oil shipping route, was rejected by Iran.
U.S. crude oil futures jumped more than 4% after-hours to around $82.50 per barrel, with the United States Oil Fund LP ETF (USO) also seeing significant gains.
