Iran's Salman Field Generates Over $21.5 Billion in Revenue Since 2016
The Salman Field, located in the Lavan area, is an aging oil field that has been undergoing maintenance to continue production. Due to its advanced age and natural decline in oil production, gas lift is essential for maintaining output.
A project to collect associated gases and develop gas transmission infrastructure at the shared Salman Field is underway. The National Iranian Oil Company reports that since 2016, over $21.5 billion has been earned from oil production at this field, with a higher added value compared to its gas production.
In the two years since the current administration began, revenue equivalent to $1.2 billion has been generated from the Salman Field. The use of high-pressure gas from the Salman gas field for injection into the wells has been a rational and conservation-oriented solution for continued production.
