Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi has announced plans to double the country's crude oil production capacity from 4.8 million barrels per day (bpd) to 10 million bpd as part of a broader project that includes major development and investment in associated gas.

The prime minister made the statement during a meeting with representatives of major French companies in Paris, where he also discussed investment opportunities and ways to expand their presence in the Iraqi market.

Al-Zaidi described France as a historic and trusted partner, pledging that his government would provide necessary facilities and create a suitable environment to attract investment in various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals.
