Iraqi authorities have confirmed that attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure originated from their territory. The admission comes as US President Donald Trump pointed to Iran as the likely culprit behind the strike, saying 'I think they are. Probably they are.'

The East-West pipeline, which has been crucial for Saudi Arabia's oil exports since the Iran war disrupted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, was targeted by drones that came from Iraq, according to the Iraqi government.

In a separate development, thousands of people have fled their homes in Yemen as Houthi rebels advance on key territory, threatening the Bab el-Mandeb strait. The International Organization for Migration reported at least 76,000 displaced people since July, up from 46,000 just days earlier.

Lebanese and Israeli negotiators are set to meet in Rome next month for US-brokered talks, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held discussions with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.
