Iraq Boosts Oil Production Ambitions Amid Global Market Expansion
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has announced plans to increase the country's oil production to between 8 million and 10 million barrels per day over the next six years. This ambitious expansion is part of a strategic move to enhance Iraq's role in the global oil market.
The formation of a ministerial committee tasked with visiting Saudi Arabia to discuss the expansion of Iraq's OPEC production quota highlights the country's determination to strengthen its position. The committee will aim to increase Iraq's oil production capacity, allowing it to take advantage of growing demand and increasing revenue.
The Iraqi government is also working on establishing new export routes through Syria's Baniyas port and Jordan's Aqaba port, positioning itself to improve its oil export capabilities.
