Iraq Closes Border Crossings Amid Investigation Into Drone Attacks on Saudi Arabia

The closures follow a series of drone strikes on a major Saudi oil pipeline, which caused material damage and injuries. According to the Iraqi government, the drones were launched from Maysan province in southern Iraq.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has ordered an investigative council to examine the conduct of the Maysan Operations Command and dismissed its commander over the incident. The prime minister stressed that the government 'will not tolerate any activity that endangers Iraq or its relations with friendly countries.'
