Iraq Closes Iran Border Crossing After Drone Attacks on Saudi Pipeline

Iraq has closed its Shalamche border crossing with Iran as a precautionary measure following drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline. According to two Reuters security sources, Iraq launched a large-scale operation to identify those responsible for the attack.

Saudi Arabia reported that drones launched from Iraqi territory struck the pipeline, causing damage and resulting in injuries. The pipeline has a capacity of approximately 7 million barrels per day and connects oil production facilities with the city of Yanbu on the western coast.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi condemned the attack, stating that any aggression threatening Saudi Arabia's security and stability is unacceptable. He also ordered an investigation and dismissed a military commander in connection with the incident.
