Iraq Confirms Drone Attacks on Saudi Oil Pipeline Launched From Its Territory
The Iraqi government has confirmed that drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline were launched from its territory. The pipeline, which transports oil from eastern regions to the Red Sea coast, was targeted several times on Thursday in the Riyadh and Medina regions.
Iraqi officials determined that the attacks originated from Maysan province in southern Iraq, near the Iranian border. As a result, the commander of Maysan Operations has been dismissed, and an investigation is underway.
Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry reported that several people were injured in the attacks but did not provide details on their identities or numbers. The pipeline was shut down as a precautionary measure following the incidents.
