Iraq Facilitates Oil Tanker Passage Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Regional Tensions
Baghdad is making efforts to facilitate the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iraqi President Nizar Amidi. Speaking at the eighth Baghdad Dialogue conference, Amidi noted that developments in the strategic waterway have far-reaching consequences for Iraq and the global economy.
The president emphasized that Iraq faces challenges transporting its oil due to a lack of a national tanker fleet, but is working to resolve this issue.
Amidi also stressed that Baghdad aims to avoid becoming involved in the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US, which has significant implications for Iraq's economy. He expressed confidence that the US wants an agreement with Iran to end the war.
