Saudi Arabia's east-west oil pipeline was shut down after drone attacks from Iraq, prompting an investigation by Baghdad. The Iraqi government confirmed the attacks originated from its territory and dismissed two senior officials. Local Iran-backed militias denied their involvement, but pledged to cooperate with the investigation.

The incident has sparked regional tensions, with several Arab countries condemning the attack. Saudi Arabia had doubled oil exports through the pipeline since June, following disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz during the Iran war.

US President Donald Trump suggested Iran was 'probably' responsible for the attack, but said his administration has been in talks with Houthi rebels to prevent further escalation.
