Iraq Probes Drone Attacks Allegedly Launched from Its Territory Against Saudi Arabia
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has ordered an investigation into reported drone attacks on Saudi Arabia that were allegedly launched from Iraqi territory. The probe, which was directed by Al-Zaidi as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, aims to examine the evidence and information provided by the Saudi side.
The Iraqi government has reaffirmed its commitment to good neighborliness and has stated that it will not permit any attacks targeting friendly countries from its territory. Baghdad is working closely with Riyadh to strengthen their relationship, which they describe as 'firm and fraternal' based on mutual respect, common interests, and principles of good neighborliness.
Riyadh had earlier reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones launched from Iraq targeting oil facilities in the kingdom. The Saudi government has called on the Iraqi authorities to take necessary measures to prevent its territory being used as a launching point for attacks against the kingdom.
