Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi is seeking to diversify his country's oil exports by discussing sales with European leaders.

During visits to France and Germany, Zaidi met with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to explore the possibility of selling oil in Europe.

Zaidi emphasized that Iraq wants to expand its export routes and cannot rely on a single corridor, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, which has been blockaded by Iran during the war.
