Iraq Seeks Special Consideration from Iran on Oil Exports
Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi has asked Iran for special consideration regarding oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, citing the country's importance in regional developments.
The request was made during a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, who is leading a high-level delegation to Baghdad. Al-Halbousi stressed that Iraq remains among the countries most affected by regional developments and emphasized the need for deeper bilateral ties and stepped-up cooperation between Baghdad and Tehran.
Qalibaf expressed Iran's willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in trade and economic fields, and highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts across a range of sectors. He also praised Iraq as an 'important country in the region' and described relations between Iran and Iraq as 'fundamental' to regional developments.
