Iraq Sets Ambitious Oil and Gas Production Targets with TotalEnergies Partnership
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi outlined plans to increase oil and gas production in the country during a meeting with TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné in France.
The goal is to reach self-sufficiency in gas production and boost oil output over the next five years, allowing Iraq to produce 10 million barrels per day. This will require increasing investment in gas production and boosting oil production.
TotalEnergies plans to increase its investment in Iraq's oil industry from $12 billion to $16 billion in the future. The company is already implementing strategic projects in Iraq, particularly in gas production.
