Iraqi Gold Prices Plummet in Baghdad and Erbil Markets

Gold prices in Baghdad and Erbil markets have seen a decline on Thursday. According to a Shafaq News market survey, gold was selling at around 1,000,000 IQD per mithqal (five grams) in both cities. In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street, the selling price for 21-carat gold ranged between 995,000 and 1,005,000 IQD, while the buying price remained at 991,000 IQD.

The prices have dropped compared to Wednesday's market data, which showed a selling price of 1,008,000 IQD per mithqal for 21-carat gold. The selling price for 21-carat Iraqi gold stood at 965,000 IQD, with a buying price of 961,000 IQD.

In jewelry stores, the prices varied between different types of gold, with Gulf gold sold between 995,000 and 1,005,000 IQD per mithqal, while Iraqi gold was priced between 965,000 and 975,000 IQD. In Erbil, 22-carat gold was sold at 1,032,000 IQD per mithqal, 21-carat gold at 985,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 845,000 IQD.
