Iraqi Gold Prices Soar Across Baghdad and Erbil Markets
Gold prices surged across Baghdad and Erbil markets on Wednesday, according to a survey conducted by Shafaq News. In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street, the selling price of 21-carat gold reached 973,000 IQD per mithqal (equivalent to five grams), while the buying price was recorded at 969,000 IQD. This represents an increase from Tuesday's prices, which stood at 965,000 IQD for selling and 959,000 IQD for buying.
The prices varied depending on the type of gold, with 21-carat Iraqi gold sold at 943,000 IQD and bought at 939,000 IQD. In jewelry stores, the selling price per mithqal of 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 975,000 and 985,000 IQD, while Iraqi gold was sold for between 945,000 and 955,000 IQD.
In Erbil, the prices were significantly higher, with 22-carat gold sold at 1,008,000 IQD per mithqal, 21-carat gold at 963,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 825,000 IQD. The rise in gold prices across both cities is a notable development in the Iraqi market.
