Iraqi Gold Prices Surge in Baghdad and Erbil

Gold prices have risen in Baghdad and Erbil, Iraq's capital cities. According to a market survey by Shafaq News, 21-carat gold is selling for around 860,000 Iraqi dinars ($656) per mithqal (five grams). In Baghdad's Al-Nahr Street, the price of 21-carat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold was recorded at 858,000 IQD ($655) per mithqal. In contrast, 21-carat Iraqi gold is selling for 828,000 IQD ($632) per mithqal.

In Erbil, the prices are slightly higher: 22-carat gold is sold for 905,000 IQD ($691) per mithqal, while 21-carat gold costs 865,000 IQD ($660) and 18-carat gold sells for 742,000 IQD ($566). The market survey suggests that these prices are up from Sunday's levels.
