Iraqi Prime Minister Hails Strategic Pipeline Deal with Türkiye
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi has hailed the newly signed agreement between Iraq and Türkiye on the Iraq-Türkiye Crude Oil Pipeline as a strategic milestone for oil exports.
The deal, which was announced on August 2, ensures uninterrupted Iraqi oil exports through the pipeline to the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, with a minimum export capacity of 750,000 barrels per day. According to Al-Zaydi, this marks an important step in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Turkish state pipeline operator BOTAS and Iraqi state-owned oil companies SOMO and NOC, following talks in Ankara between Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar and Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair. Bayraktar described the deal as a historic step in bilateral energy cooperation.
