Iraq's Power Supply at Risk from US Sanctions on Iranian Gas
Iraq's power supply is at risk due to US sanctions on Iranian gas imports.
The country relies heavily on Iranian natural gas to run its numerous power plants, but Iran has sharply reduced its exports to Iraq in recent months.
Petroleum analyst Waleed Khaddouri notes that Iraq's best option is to develop its own gas resources, but for now, it must import gas from other countries such as Qatar and Algeria.
