IRGC Claims Attacks on US Ships and Oil Tankers in Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for attacks on several vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, including two American ships and eight oil tankers. According to the IRGC's statement, these vessels were attempting to pass through what it described as a 'forbidden and unsafe area'. The IRGC said its naval forces caused significant damage to the targeted vessels.
The IRGC claimed the attacks were in retaliation for earlier US strikes on Iranian vessels. It also stated that 10 ships had been targeted for passing through the prohibited area with the support of the United States. The IRGC emphasized its control over the Strait of Hormuz, stating it is under 'strong and powerful surveillance and management'.
