IRGC Claims Targeting of US Vessels, Oil Tankers in Hormuz Strait
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it targeted two US vessels and eight oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz on September 10, 2026. The IRGC said this was in response to US attacks on five Iranian tankers.
The IRGC stated that both the US vessels and eight tankers sustained 'extensive damage.' Additionally, ten other ships attempting to pass through what the IRGC called a restricted area with US support were also targeted.
