Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted a US air base in Jordan in retaliation for attacks on Iranian oil tankers, according to an IRGC statement. The IRGC said it struck a hangar and shelter at Al-Azraq Air Base, where the US Army's F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets are maintained.

The IRGC claimed that its strike caused 'heavy damage' to the enemy. However, Jordan's military disputed this, saying its air defense systems destroyed 18 of 20 Iranian ballistic missiles fired at the base.

Two missiles fell in unpopulated areas, causing no casualties, according to Jordan's military. The US had previously announced that it destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers.
