Israel Gas Prices Hit Record High Amid Global Tensions

Israeli consumers are facing another financial blow as fuel prices skyrocket due to escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf region. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced price increases for September, effective from midnight on Tuesday to Wednesday (September 1).

The maximum price for a liter of 95-octane unleaded gasoline will rise by 16 agorot to reach a record high of 8.25 shekels per liter.

Full-service fees at gas stations will stand at 26 agorot per liter (including VAT), an increase of 1 agora from the previous update.

The price hike is attributed to rising global oil costs, which have increased by 6.4% due to heightened tensions between the United States and Iran and concerns over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
