Ivanhoe Mines Records Strong Q2 Results Amid Record Zinc Production
Ivanhoe Mines Ltd delivered strong Q2 2026 results, driven by record Kipushi zinc production and strategic sulfuric acid credits.
The company reported a total revenue of $880 million, including $56 million from sulfuric acid sales and a $33 million positive impact from mark-to-market of provisionally priced sales. Copper production at Kamoa-Kakula exceeded 64,000 tonnes in Q2 2026, while zinc production at Kipushi reached a record 70,000 tonnes.
Kamoa-Kakula's C1 cash cost was $2.84 per pound in Q2 2026, at the lower end of guidance, and its EBITDA was $385 million for the quarter. Kipushi faced logistical challenges due to insufficient truck availability, but still reported a revenue of $148 million and an EBITDA of $51 million.
Ivanhoe Mines maintains a strong liquidity position with $635 million in cash and cash equivalents. The company expects Kamoa-Kakula to become self-funding as production and sales increase in the coming quarters.
