Japan Pledges $10B Investment in Iran Oil Sector Post-Sanctions
Japan's Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamani Nia confirmed that Japan plans to invest $10 billion in Iran's oil sector.
The move comes as Japan seeks to expand its presence in Iran's oil industry following the lifting of Western sanctions.
Zamani Nia stated that Japanese companies are interested in investing in various parts of Iran's oil industry, including petrochemicals, refineries, and LNG sectors.
Japan was one of Iran's key clients for oil imports before Western sanctions were imposed in 2012, importing around 338,000 barrels per day (bpd).
