JERA Secures LNG Stocks Through October, Sees No Power Supply Risk
JERA, Japan's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) buyer, has secured sufficient LNG stocks for the peak summer demand season through October. The company sees no risk to stable power supply even if a heatwave boosts demand.
Masato Otaki, an executive officer at JERA, stated that they have 'sufficient LNG stocks' for the period and there are 'no issues regarding stable power supply.'
The utility will carefully manage inventories for the winter months by leveraging its global trading arm to optimize procurement. Qatar represents only a small share of its LNG supply portfolio.
