High gold prices have led to increased demand for appraisals of jewelry and luxury items in Hong Kong, prompting Japanese-founded Jewel Cafe to open its third store in Tsuen Wan. The new location offers free appraisals with no obligation to sell, joining existing stores in Mong Kok and North Point.

The World Gold Council reported that the LBMA afternoon gold price set 53 new all-time highs during 2025, with an annual average gold price of USD 3,431 per ounce, a 44% increase from the previous year. Jewel Cafe's Tsuen Wan store is now open for business at OP Mall.

The company specializes in the purchase of precious metals, branded goods, luxury watches, and diamond jewelry. According to its website, customers can receive free appraisals with no appointment required, and walk-ins are welcome.
