Jordan Expands Natural Gas Network to Industrial Clusters
Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh announced that his ministry is working on strategic projects to expand the natural gas network to industrial clusters across Jordan. The goal is to reduce energy costs, enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector, and strengthen energy security as part of the Economic Modernisation Vision.
The minister stated that replacing diesel with natural gas can cut industrial fuel costs by up to 50 per cent. So far, the natural gas network has reached the Al Qastal and Al Hashimiyah industrial zones, and facilities have been inaugurated in the Al Quwayrah Industrial Zone and Aqaba.
Kharabsheh said that his ministry is working to extend natural gas to the Muwaqqar Industrial Zone and the Ma’an Development Zone. Additionally, a consultancy agreement has been signed for technical studies to supply gas to the Mafraq Development Zone and the new industrial zone in Zarqa.
