Jordan Secures 50K Tons of Feed Barley at $318.5 per Ton
Jordan's state grain buyer made a significant purchase in an international tender on September 9. The company acquired approximately 50,000 tons of feed barley from Bunge at an estimated price of $318.5 per ton, including shipping costs, for delivery in the second half of October.
The other participants in the tender were Soufflet, Olam, and Cofco. Although they did not win the contract, their involvement indicates a competitive market for grain exports.
Interestingly, Jordan is expected to issue another tender soon for an additional 50-60,000 tons of feed barley, with shipments scheduled for January and February 2027. The details of this upcoming tender are still to be announced, but it will likely attract more competition from international buyers.
